Mena Alexandra (born on the 13th of February 1979) is an actress and model from the United States. Soon after she began her professional career as an actress Mena Alexandra Suvari starred in guest roles for 1990s TV shows Boy Meets World and High Incident. Her film debut was in 1997's drama Nowhere. With her performances on American Beauty - for which she was nominated to get a BAFTA Award - and American Pie and American Pie, which earned more attention from the public, she transitioned into bigger roles. Since then she appeared on screen in Loser (2000) with the American Pie co-star Jason Biggs and later played the main role in the comedy film Sugar & Spice (2001). Spun, a 2002 independent drama film and Trauma, a (2004) thrillers both part of her professional career. She appeared in HBO's dramatic show Six Feet Under. In 2004, she was recognized as an Outstanding Cast member at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2008 she was cast in a series of movies including Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and the film adaptation of The Garden of Eden. Suvari was a Lancome Paris Adaptive model and Lancome Paris Cosmetics print advertisement model has been featured on numerous fashion magazines and blogs, including Vogue. Suvari has been a loyal campaigner for and a supporter of the highly regarded African relief organization known as the African Medical and Research Foundation. The organization is also active in women's empowerment issues and is associated with groups that help raise awareness about breast cancer as well as women's rights and the End Violence Against Women Campaign.
